Microsoft 365 Governance Dashboard – Visibility and Control for Your Tenant

Challenge


A mid-sized company began to notice rising Microsoft 365 license costs.

Over time, several users had left the organization, yet their accounts and licenses remained active.

This created hidden costs and possible security risks.

IT reports existed, but they were complex and rarely used by management.


The leadership team wanted a simple and visual way to see who was still active in Microsoft 365 and where unused licenses could be identified.

Solution


I created a Microsoft 365 Governance Dashboard that shows user activity across Microsoft 365 in a clear and accessible view.

Managers can instantly see when each user last signed in and how many days they have been inactive.

Filters make it possible to focus on accounts inactive for more than 90 or 180 days.

Results can be exported and reviewed during regular license or security checks.


The interface is built with Microsoft Power Apps and runs securely within the company tenant.

There are no external tools and no additional software required.

Results


Within the first week, the company identified more than 40 inactive accounts.

Licenses were released, resulting in annual savings of several thousand euros.

The IT team gained a clear overview, and management introduced a monthly review routine.

What previously took hours of manual reporting now takes only a few minutes.
